9,000+ plays! You’re stealing our hearts.

Minna, osu!

Our audio player just broke 9,000 plays, so it’s time for a new installment of FOREIGN TELEGRAM audio and updates.

We’re climbing the walls, because our albums are late, but they’re almost done. Skin Jobs is sounding great, especially after being expertly mastered by Mike Wells, in Los Angeles. You can get a taste of the new album, as we’re uploading the newest mixes of Spy Thriller Disco Scene and Proto. We’re also adding Yoru to the player, for some classic FOREIGN TELEGRAM flavor.

What have we been doing?! Well, we are working with a number of artists to generate some artwork for the albums and the DVD. From fine artist to commercial artist to comic book artist, we’ll soon benefit from the talents of several visually-minded individuals, and we’re eager to see what they come up with. In the meantime, we are focusing our attention on new music, and the creative tap is wide open. In just a couple short months, we already have 7 or 8 songs in the works. That’s a whole new album, on the way. Sources say, a few of these songs will be unveiled at our next concert.

In other news, MacAddict will include FOREIGN TELEGRAM as their spotlight artist, in the upcoming issue. The magazine features a free interactive multimedia CD-ROM with music, graphics, video, and game software for the Mac, as well as original tracks by new artists. Look for the future issue, in stores near you.

Thanks again for listening, here at Myspace. Remember, there’s a lot more music at www.foreigntelegram.com, and FREE downloads, exclusively available to registered members on our message board. Take a look, sign up, and download FREE music and video to your computer or portable player of choice. Some of our latest freebies, available to registered members are iPod ready live videos. Of course, anyone can watch the videos on our site, but registered members can enjoy them on the go! Douzo.

Leave us a message, here at Myspace or on our message board at at www.foreigntelegram.com. Sore jyaa, matane~

8,000+ plays!!

8,000
8,000 plays and still transmitting around the globe. We are floored to know that our songs have been played over 8,000 times. It seems that the numbers are growing almost exponentially. Does that indicate that people get it? We think so, and are excited that our music hasn’t slipped through the cracks, but has been picked up and appreciated by music lovers all around the world. It is truly awe inspiring.

So, it’s been a while since we’ve had a chance to write an update. Believe us, we’ve been busy. Though, we’ve enjoyed reading your letters and have responded to as many as possible. Please be persistent, as we want to talk to you all.

So, what has FOREIGN TELEGRAM been doing since 6,000 plays? Well, a lot of it is listed on our blog, but there’s even more. We played the Cherry Bar and Madrone this last summer, besides working on our albums and developing a concept for our first music video. Ben and Eve celebrated birthdays, and along the way, we won a limited edition guitar (1 of 12 in the world), at the San Francisco premier of Ultraman: The Next.

‘Nana’ music video
However, the biggest news by far, was the completion of our music video for ‘Nana’, and our video premier and concert, at the historic Victoria Theater (San Francisco’s oldest operating theater). The event was a rare distinction, because we are the first band allowed to perform in the theater since the early 20th century. The video, created by EPI Productions, features the Harupin-Ha Butoh Dance Theater performing a very intense interpretation of the song, which was remixed especially for the video by Ken. This remix is now featured in our Myspace playlist, for a limited time. Check it out. It goes a great deal beyond the original song, which is one of our favorites, anyway. Harupin-Ha is the dance troupe run by butoh veterans Koichi and Hiroko Tamano, both of which studied under the inventor of butoh, Tatsumi Hijikata. Along with 3 of their accomplished students, they appear in the ‘Nana’ video, which will be available soon at our website http://foreigntelegram.com, and on a DVD which is in the works. The video also featured several actors and actresses, who lended their own talents to our creative endeavor. With an intimate crew of 13 film makers, we conceived, designed, built, filmed, edited, and completed the video. It has been a rewarding experience.

2 new albums!
We’re also excited that we are finally finished mixing our albums, and they are on their way to the mastering stage that makes the CD’s that we all buy sound really incredible. Can’t wait to hear the results, because the mixes already sound brilliant. Our audio mastermind, Ken, has been working on these all summer long, literally perfecting the mixes. You’ll be stunned by what an independent band can do. Additionally, we’ve crafted something new – a new style – a sound that’s never heard before. We would never offer anything less. The albums will both hit the market momentarily.

Live at 12 Galaxies
This Friday, October 28th, we’re performing again. This time, we’ll be appearing at 12 Galaxies, kicking off the Halloween weekend. Guests are encouraged to dress up, and merchandise will be given to those in costume. Details are on our official message board, which is also at http://foreigntelegram.com. We have some special surprises planned for Friday. Friends, come and enjoy the warmth of 12 Galaxies, be a part of the show, bring your camera, bring your video camera, bring a friend, bring a date, or come alone and hang out with us. We are excited to play at 12 Galaxies, as we’ve seen quite a many great shows at the venue. Now it’s our chance to show you all a good time. Please, be our guests.

Limited edition
For those of us that enjoy cool collectibles and wearable art, we’ll be unveiling brand new models of shirts including a two-tone raglan T with two-color print, a two-tone baby T with two-color print, and a tank top with two-color print. Not only will there be several new models, but they will also be cheaper than you can find at a store AND we’re going to knock the price down even further, just for the show, because we really appreciate those of you that have been coming to our concerts. For our friends around the globe, we are going to keep the prices affordable for you, as well. We will devise a special offer for you, too, before the end of the year. Everyone, grab a shirt now, if you can, because this design is limited, and will not be available for much longer.

Finally, we have created our first sticker, and it’s really cute. Come check it out at 12 Galaxies, on Friday night. They’ll be with our new shirts and remaining limited edition postcards which are our first in a series we’ve planned.

Summer and Fall have been very productive times for us, and we’re all working really hard to deliver the best sounds and visions we can. We’ll keep transmitting the signal, on this frequency. Keep us dialed in, and we will find you. We’re coming to you around the globe, as soon as we can. Your letters and support mean so much to us. Keep writing. Keep listening!

FOREIGN TELEGRAM sincerely thanks everyone who came out to see us at our Friday night Blake’s gig and our Sunday evening Dali-Lab Music Festival gig. It is profoundly rewarding to hang out with you at the shows and to play music for you. So, thank you.

For many more of you who wanted to come but couldn’t make it, don’t worry. There will be future gigs, though none are planned at this time.
